Lake Mendocino Bypass/Fishway

The concept of a Lake Mendocino "Fishway," a means for salmonids to pass by Coyote Dam and reservoir, was conceived in 1995. According to its proponents, it is an "innovative and intriguing concept in need of community acceptance and the appropriate feasibility studies."

Although the goal of restoring fish passage to the East Fork of the Russian River is supported by all, the bypass/fishway concept has yet to receive universal support.
